A four-year-old boy has been likened to F1 star Max Verstappen after driving his mother’s car in the Netherlands.

Utrecht city police said the child crashed into two parked cars and was found alone by a bystander in his pajamas and barefoot on Saturday.

According to police, the child took his mother’s car keys to “drive,” after waking up on Saturday when his father went to work.

On Instagram, the force said it had discovered a “new Max Verstappen” and that no one was injured in the incident.

Police contacted the boy’s mother and while talking to her on the phone, the boy gestured to the steering wheel, prompting police to think he might have been driving.

Taken to the scene, the child was asked if he knew how the car was working.

Police said he opened the car with a key, looked up the key to the electric drive and went to the clutch with his left foot and pressed the throttle.

“Fortunately, the mini-driver’s adventure ended in an explosion,” police said.

The child was examined by paramedics and taken to the police station, where he was given a hot chocolate and asked where it came from.

Max Verstappen is the current Dutch Formula One world champion driver.
